A name that travels with you — without losing where you came from
Millions of Indian students and professionals adopt an informal "easy" name abroad every year, usually picked in a rush at immigration or on the first day of a new job. NaamStar flips that: your second name is matched to your own Nakshatra or personality, so it carries real meaning instead of being arbitrary.
How the matching works
Vedic naming has always linked a name to a birth Nakshatra, numerology and planetary archetype. NaamStar keeps that same logic — instead of naming a newborn, it points the tradition at a Western-facing second name for someone moving abroad. You can enter your birth date and time for an illustrative Nakshatra calculation, or simply pick the personality archetype that feels closest to you.
How accurate is the matching?
The Nakshatra calculation and destination-fit notes use a simplified, deterministic method based on your birth date, time and place — not full astrological ephemeris data. The name database reflects real etymology and known bearers, curated for clarity. Think of NaamStar as a meaningful, guided starting point for choosing your name — not a substitute for a professional astrological consultation.
"When I was in school, a new classmate arrived from India — his name was Tangaruban. Within days, everyone in class was calling him 'Tanga' for short. It stuck for weeks, until he found out that in German, 'Tanga' means a thong. He asked to be called Ruben instead, and that's the name that followed him from then on."
That's the exact problem NaamStar exists to fix: an accidental nickname, picked by everyone else and for the wrong reasons — with zero say from the person it belongs to. NaamStar flips that around. Instead of waiting for a classroom or a coworker to hand you a name, you choose one yourself, matched to your own Nakshatra or personality, before someone else picks it for you.
FAQ
How does payment work?
Checkout runs through Stripe with real payment methods. You pay once for Basic or Premium, and your full report unlocks immediately afterward — no subscription, no phone call needed.
How is my name actually matched?
By your birth Nakshatra (calculated from birth date and time, or entered manually if you already know it) or by the personality archetype you pick. Each of the 9 planetary archetypes maps to a curated shortlist of Western names with real etymology and a short story.
What do I get with the Basic vs. Premium tier?
Basic unlocks every matched name for your archetype with full meaning, story and a shareable certificate. Premium adds a destination-country cultural fit note and a downloadable certificate designed as a keepsake.
